Privacy Policy

NaadSadhana is built to respect your privacy. This policy describes what data the app touches, where it lives, and what choices you have.

By using NaadSadhana, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Our Privacy Approach in One Paragraph

NaadSadhana is a local-first app. Audio captured through your device's microphone is processed entirely on your device — it never leaves the device through us. Your recordings, videos, song presets, playlists, and practice progress also stay on your device. If you have iCloud sync enabled, your data also syncs to your personal iCloud account, which only you control. We do not maintain servers that store your practice content or any audio or any data. We do not collect your name, email address, or contact details. We do not sell or share your data. The only data that leaves your device through us is anonymous diagnostic data used to keep the app working well — and even that is minimal.

2. Microphone and On-Device Audio Processing

NaadSadhana uses your device's microphone for features such as tuning, pitch detection, ear training, rhythm practice, and recording your performances. All microphone audio is processed locally on your device.

Real-time audio analysis (pitch detection, tuner readings, rhythm timing, performance feedback) happens on the device using on-device signal processing.
No audio captured by the microphone is sent to our servers, because we do not operate servers that receive audio.
No audio is sent to any third-party service for analysis.
Audio you choose to record is saved as a recording on your device, where you control whether to keep it, delete it, sync it to your personal iCloud, or share it.

You grant the app microphone access through iOS's standard permission prompt. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.

3. What Stays on Your Device

The following remain entirely on your device unless you choose to share them:

Audio captured by the microphone for analysis (never stored unless you record)
Audio recordings and video recordings of your practice
Song presets, playlists
Practice settings and personal preferences
Practice history and progress data
Screenshots and any other content you create within the app

If you enable iCloud sync, this content also syncs to your personal iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit service. Apple — not Sandeep Ranade — operates iCloud. Your iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/. We do not have access to your iCloud content.

4. What You Choose to Share

You may choose to share content from NaadSadhana — for example, exporting a recording, sending a song or playlist to a friend, posting a video to social media, or sharing a screenshot. When you do this, the content leaves the app under your direction. Once shared externally, it is governed by the privacy practices of whatever service or person you shared it with. We have no control over content you choose to share.

You may also choose to send us diagnostic information when requesting help — for example, attaching diagnostic information to a support email. This sharing is initiated by you and only happens when you take that explicit action.

5. Limited Data Processed by Third-Party Services

NaadSadhana uses a small number of third-party services to keep the app running. None of these services receive audio from your microphone, or video from your camera. They may process limited anoymized technical data — meaning data that is not directly tied to your name or email, but may include device identifiers, IP addresses, or anonymous installation IDs. We have configured these services to collect the minimum data needed for their stated purpose.

Apple iCloud / CloudKit (only if you enable iCloud sync) Syncs your practice content to your personal iCloud account. Apple processes this data under its own Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Google Firebase Analytics (anonymous usage analytics) Helps us understand how the app is used in aggregate — for example, which features are popular. Data is pseudonymized by Google. Governed by: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Firebase Crashlytics (crash diagnostics) Helps us identify and fix bugs. When the app crashes, technical information about the crash — including device model, OS version, app version, and a Crashlytics installation identifier — is sent to Google. No audio or recording content is included in crash data. Governed by: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

RevenueCat (subscription and purchase management) Manages paid subscriptions, in-app purchases, including lifetime access. RevenueCat processes purchase identifiers and Apple ID transaction data necessary to verify and restore your purchases. Governed by: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising. There are no ads in the app, free or pro versions.

6. Diagnostic Data and Support

If you contact us for help, you may choose to send diagnostic information — typically a log file or screenshot — by email. This information helps us diagnose the issue you're experiencing. We use it only to assist you and delete or archive it once the issue is resolved.

We may rarely request your audio, recordings, songs, or other personal practice content for support purposes, if needed.

7. Your Rights

Because nearly all of your data lives on your device or in your personal iCloud account, you control most of it directly:

To access your data: open the app, or your iCloud account
To correct your data: edit it within the app
To delete your data: delete recordings within the app, or uninstall the app and clear its iCloud data through your iCloud settings
To export your data: use the app's share and export features
To stop microphone access: revoke the permission in iOS Settings at any time

8. Data Retention

Data on your device or in your iCloud account is retained until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Microphone audio used for live analysis is processed in real time and not retained unless you explicitly record it.
Diagnostic data sent through Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics is retained by Google per their stated retention periods (typically 14 to 90 days for crash data).
Subscription records held by RevenueCat and Apple are retained as required by Apple and applicable tax law.
Diagnostic data you send us by email is retained only as long as needed to resolve your support request.

9. Security

The third-party services we use employ industry-standard security measures. Your iCloud-synced data is protected by Apple's iCloud security. The recordings and content on your device are protected by your device's own security settings — please use a passcode or biometric lock to protect access to your device.

Because microphone audio and personal content are processed on-device, the most important security measure is your own device security.

No method of data transmission or storage is fully secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, only that we have designed the app to minimize the data that's exposed to risk in the first place.

10. International Data Transfers

NaadSadhana is developed and operated from India. The third-party services listed in Section 5 may process data in the United States, Europe, India, or other regions where their infrastructure operates. No audio or video is internationally transferred because no audio or video leaves your device through us.

By using the app, you consent to the international transfer of the limited pseudonymized data described in this policy.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy will reflect the most recent revision. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice through the app or our website. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the NaadSadhana mobile application ("the App" or "the Service"), provided by Sandeep Ranade ("we," "us," or "our").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. License to Use the App

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, in accordance with the Apple App Store Terms of Service and these Terms.

You may not:

Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
Translate the App into other languages without permission
Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices
Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our services

The App and all related trademarks, copyrights, database rights, and intellectual property remain the property of Sandeep Ranade and his licensors.

2. Subscriptions, Purchases, and Lifetime Access

NaadSadhana offers free features and may offer paid subscriptions and one-time purchases through the Apple App Store, including monthly subscriptions, annual subscriptions, and Lifetime Access tiers. All purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's terms.

Subscription billing. Recurring subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.

Lifetime Access. "Lifetime Access" refers to the operational lifetime of the NaadSadhana service, not the lifetime of the user. Lifetime Access entitles you to use the App's premium features for as long as the NaadSadhana service is operational and available on the App Store.

If the service is discontinued for any reason — including but not limited to developer decision, technical infeasibility, regulatory changes, removal from the App Store, force majeure, or events outside our reasonable control — Lifetime Access ends with the service. We make no guarantee of any specific minimum operational period.

Founder Pricing (if offered). "Founder Pricing" or similar promotional plans guarantee a locked-in subscription rate for as long as the service operates and the user maintains an active subscription, but do not constitute Lifetime Access. If a Founder Pricing subscription lapses, future re-subscription will be at then-current rates.

Non-transferable. All purchases, including Lifetime Access, are personal and non-transferable. Access is tied to the original purchasing Apple ID and cannot be sold, gifted, transferred, or inherited.

Refunds. All refund requests must be made through Apple, per Apple's refund policy. We have no ability to issue refunds directly. Subscription cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial periods. We may, at our sole discretion, offer accommodation to lifetime plan holders in the event of service discontinuation, but are under no obligation to do so beyond what applicable law requires.

Feature changes. We reserve the right to add, modify, remove, or discontinue features at any time. Lifetime Access does not guarantee any specific feature set, only continued access to the App's core functionality as it exists from time to time.

Price changes. Prices for new purchases may change. Existing Lifetime Access purchasers are not subject to future price changes for access already purchased.

3. Service Availability and Discontinuation

We strive to keep the App available and functional, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The App requires an active internet connection for some features, a compatible Apple device, and a current iOS version.

We reserve the right to discontinue the NaadSadhana service at any time. Where reasonably possible, we will provide at least sixty (60) days' notice of discontinuation through in-app notification, our website, or email where available.

In the event of the death, incapacitation, or other inability of the developer to continue providing the service, the service may be discontinued by Sandeep Ranade's estate or legal representatives without further notice. No refund or other compensation shall be owed beyond what may be required by applicable law.

Upon discontinuation:

All licenses and rights granted to you under these Terms will end
You must stop using the App and delete it from your device
No further refunds are owed beyond what is required by applicable law

4. Updates and Changes

We may update the App from time to time. System requirements may change, and you may need to download updates to continue using the App. We do not promise to update the App for compatibility with all future iOS versions or all device models.

We recommend keeping the App updated to the latest version for security and functionality. We are not responsible for issues caused by use of outdated versions.

5. Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to audio recordings, performances, and other content you create using NaadSadhana ("Your Content"). Your Content is stored locally on your device and, if you enable iCloud sync, in your personal iCloud account.

If you choose to share Your Content outside the App, you are solely responsible for ensuring you have all necessary rights, including rights to any underlying compositions, ragas, lyrics, or recordings. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sandeep Ranade from any claims arising from Your Content or your sharing of it.

6. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

Your device, network connection, and any data or roaming charges
Keeping your Apple ID and device secure
Any content you create or share using the App
Compliance with all applicable laws in your use of the App

If you are not the bill payer for the device on which you use the App, you confirm you have permission from the bill payer.

We are not responsible for issues arising from jailbroken or modified devices, unauthorized modifications to the operating system, third-party software interference, or use of the App outside its intended purpose.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or that defects will be corrected. We do not warrant the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any content within the App.

Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Sandeep Ranade or NaadSadhana be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the App or Service.

9. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, network or infrastructure failures, strikes, pandemics, or shortages of transportation, fuel, energy, labor, or materials.

Removal of the App from the Apple App Store, material changes to Apple's Developer Program, or material changes to third-party services on which the App depends (including but not limited to Apple iCloud, Firebase, RevenueCat, and AI service providers) shall constitute force majeure for purposes of these Terms.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Sandeep Ranade from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the App, (b) Your Content, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any rights of any third party.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.

Upon termination, your license to use the App ends immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, and 14 — shall survive.

12. Apple-Specific Terms

You acknowledge that these Terms are entered into between you and Sandeep Ranade, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.

Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
In the event the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, who will refund the purchase price of the App if applicable. Apple has no other warranty obligation.
Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App.
In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Sandeep Ranade — not Apple — will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
You must comply with applicable third-party agreements (e.g., your wireless data service agreement) when using the App.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and have the right to enforce them against you.

13. General

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Sandeep Ranade regarding the App.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full effect.

No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms. We may assign these Terms to a successor or affiliate.

14. Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
